The data catalog in the Elementary Cloud Platform offers more than just a metadata repository—it enhances data observability by integrating high-level results for each asset. This means users not only see technical metadata (such as column descriptions, dependencies, or refresh times) but also gain real-time insights into the status and performance of the data itself.

Users can explore column and table descriptions, review dependencies, copy SQL queries, and track last refresh times. It allows smooth navigation across upstream and downstream assets, helping users gain insights into data lineage and transformations.

The catalog will soon display health scores per table, enabling data analysts to quickly assess datasets' quality and reliability during exploration.

Elementary offers direct integration with Atlan, adding data health scores to Atlan assets. This integration aligns with enterprise data catalogs to enrich metadata sharing and foster collaboration across platforms. Users can work with familiar cataloging systems like Atlan while benefiting from Elementary's data observability capabilities.
